How to Choose the Right Cell Phone Accessories for Yourself

It is not enough to purchase just a cell phone. You should also have an idea of the proper accessories involved. Buying a cell phone without its necessary and imperative accessories will do you no good indeed. You have to make sure that you purchase the right accessories. The biggest problem that people face in this regard is the determination of the right accessories provided and on offer while purchasing the cell phone.

Here are the top accessories that you need for your cell phone. These accessories will help you go in for better customization along with contributing to easier and more seamless usage which is a big plus point. You can start using your cell phone just out of its box but these accessories add loads of functionality and pleasure. Take a look at the best accessories for your cell phone and buy these without fail!

  • Charger: Most cell phones usually come with a charger provided by the manufacturers. This type of charger is usually labeled a wall charger and is one of the most common types used by people these days. However, do you know that you can actually purchase more unique chargers with greater advantages in the market? These include the following:
  • Car chargers: These allow you to charge your cell phone seamlessly even while on the move. This has to be plugged right into a special outlet for accessories or the cigarette lighter plugin point provided in the car. This kind of charger is very convenient for people who travel a lot in their cars. There are rapid, trickle and fast chargers available for cars and you can use the cell phone even while charging the battery in this case
  • USB charger: This is one of the most popular types available in today’s times. All you need to do is hook up your cell phone to the charger through a cable. You should connect one end of the USB charger to the laptop or computer. This is a fabulous source of power and should definitely be tapped for better results and advantages
  • Desktop chargers: These are docking stations with base units for keeping the cell phone in its place. There is a USB cable that is used for seamlessly connecting to any laptop or computer for cell phone charging. These can also be used for digital music players and other similar devices too. However, while the phone is being charged, you cannot use the same with this type
  • Green chargers: These are chargers that make use of renewable energy sources and this is ideal for people who love the idea of having a low carbon footprint
You can also go for universal chargers among other things as these handy devices can charge any mobile device in a jiffy.

You should also choose the right cell phone cover or case for yourself. This is a much neglected accessory and should be a must-buy on your list. This accessory will help you keep your phone safe from bumps, spills, scratches and dust and grime. Alongside, you can impart a more fashionable look to your phone with this accessory. You can opt for pouch, body glove and faceplate covers among other types. The latter is usually a case made of plastic and this is put right over the mobile phone casing. This offers scratch and bump protection. You can use various designs and colors to customize your overall phone appearance. The original phone casing might need to be removed in some cases. The pouch type of cover totally enfolds the phone and this is the best method of protection. Pouches do not cost much and come in multiple designs and colors too.

The body glove option provides greater durability as well. This prevents scratches and minimizes the impact of shocks if you end up dropping the cell phone in question. Neoprene is used to create the body glove case type and this ensures a tighter fit around the cell phone casing. The skins are usually manufactured from durable plastic. These can be attached to the casing of any phone for greater protection and durability along with a much needed dose of style for your cell phone!

You should also make use of a memory card to heighten your overall cell phone usage experience. Memory card compatibility is a standard feature of most feature and smartphones these days. Internal memory will never suffice for all your games, songs, contacts, images and other data. Always store everything in your memory card and you can opt for microSD cars in this regard. You can choose from 4 GB to 32 GB and even 64 GB depending upon the phone in question. You can also use these cards in other digital devices including gaming consoles and music players. Always make sure that you purchase a compatible memory card along with your cell phone.

You should also purchase a headset and this is mostly included as part of the standard manufacturer’s package in most cases. This accessory is handy as it will allow you to talk hands free and also listen to music. Headsets are either wired or wireless and you should take your pick carefully depending upon your preferences. Wired headsets are cheaper and more durable as compared to wireless headsets though. You can choose between boom and ear bud headsets depending upon the type of experience you prefer. You might also think of snapping up an additional battery for your cell phone. Batteries usually provide restricted power output and this can be a severe problem in many cases.

Charging your cell phone may not always be possible for people who are constantly on the move and this can lead to severe problems if you phone dies due to insufficient battery power at a crucial moment. An additional battery will keep you insulated from these problems with elan. You can buy additional batteries without paying a hefty sum from your own pocket.

Critical Comparison among Nokia X, Nokia Lumia 520 and Xolo Q900

Audio & Visual Performance
Nokia X

The Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia X have a sporty screen of 4-inch that is supported by IPS LCD panels. When compared regarding brightness, contrast, viewing angles, outdoor visibility and contrast, Lumia 520 is best even after having non-retina panel for display. The touch of Lumia 520 is ultra sensitive which has the potential to detect touch even through gloves. The Nokia X has a dual point multi touch unit which is absent in Lumia 520. There is nothing notable about the display of Nokia X as it’s quite dull.

Now talking of the Xolo Q900, the screen is of 4.7 inch supporting 720p HD display along with TFT panels. The viewing angle of Xolo Q900 is wide and vibrantly bright screen. The drawback is scratch proof protection layer which makes the screen excessively glossy and the contrast function is not that catchy.

Of all the three, the Nokia X is known to have the loudest and clearest speaker. The Lumia 520 just follows is with a little checked sound output. The speakers of Xolo Q900 are very low compared to the other two phones. When an enhancement is attached, the volume output of Lumia 520 is undoubtedly the best of the three.

Hardware Performance
Xolo Q900Legally, Xolo Q900 is recorded to have better processor than the other two Nokia phones but when minutely tested, the Lumia 520 is noted for faster and better performance, especially in daily-life use. This may even be a result of the Operating System because Windows 8 is known as a hardware friendly operating system.

The Xolo Q900 has a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor with a 1GB RAM that helps in fast operating when compared to Nokia X. The Nokia X has the simple dual core Snapdragon 200 processor with a RAM of 512MB only. Though the internal storage capacity is 4GB in case of both Xolo Q900 and Nokia X. in this phase the Lumia 520 has defeated both of them with an inbuilt memory of 8GB. All the three phones have external memory storage facility via microSD Card.

The Lumia 520 and Xolo Q900, both are efficient in case of playing games but Nokia X is not so supportive when it comes to games. The hardware can support some nominal games like Temple Run or Angry Bird but nothing beyond this with high graphics can be expected. There is a proximity sensor and accelerometer in both Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia X. Apart from all these the Xolo Q900 has an e-compass and other necessary features.

Software & User Interface

The software version of Nokia X is Android 4.1.2 (JellyBean) assisted by FastLane and a User Interface Design that is almost an imitation of Windows Phone. There are two distinct divisions of the home screen, the app launcher and FastLane.

There is a list of all apps in the app launcher from where widgets can also be set. The FastLane is a place where all the recent notifications can be found as well as the recently utilized apps. Although the phones have Android OS, still no signs of Google Play Store can be found but instead Nokia has provided their very own App Store for installing desired apps. The phone has Nokia’s HERE Map, BBM, Nokia MixRadio and True-Caller already installed. The Nokia app store provides basic and nominal apps for more apps one has to install 1Store or any other app store.

The Lumia 520 has Windows 8 (Phone) operating system with the Nokia Black. The Nokia HERE Maps, MS Office tools, Nokia MixRadio are already available in this phone. The Live Tiles behave like small widgets which gives a peck of any information.

The Xolo Q900 is operated by Android 4.2.2 JellyBean which is not an updated version but still passable. Xolo Q900 has pre-loaded apps such as notes app; file manager, sound recorder, Xolo Secure and Xolo Power. The Xolo Power is a battery management app that helps the user to set night mode, data sync interval and even low-battery mode. The Xolo Secure helps is keeping any personal mobile data safe and secure when the phone is lost. It acts as a device tracker as well and data can be removed or inserted remotely.

Connectivity & Battery Life

The Xolo Q900 and Nokia X are two SIM smartphones but Lumia 520 supports only one SIM. All the three devices have the facility of 3G, Wi-Fi hotspot, Wi-Fi b/g/n, A-GPS, Bluetooth and even MicroUSB ports. The Bluetooth version of Nokia X is v3.0 but in case of the other two devices, it is Bluetooth v4.0 connectivity.

In case of cellular data connectivity, the Nokia X is slowest with a speed of 7.2 Mbps whereas the Xolo Q900 has 42Mbps and Lumia 520 has 21Mbps of data download speed.

The battery of Nokia X is pretty decent compared to its price and size. It is 1500 mAh which doesn’t have the potential to last as long as the Lumia 520. The Nokia X can last for a day or half at the max while Lumia 520 can last almost for two days with a 1430 mAh battery. Xolo is the fastest of all the tree devices, in terms of connectivity. But Xolo Q900 cannot last for more than a day even after regular use as it is provided with 1800 mAh battery.

Pricing & Value

The price of Lumia X is Rs. 7,500 which is almost the same as Lumia 520. The Xolo is however priced around Rs. 9,658, which is Rs. 2,000 higher than the other two Nokia phones.

Most experts would suggest you not to go for the Nokia X as it does not have an effective hardware feature when compared to its price. One should wait for the Nokia XL though. Xolo is quite good as an Android device as it has a smart screen with classic camera although it cannot give proper battery back-up like the Lumia 520 while watching video or playing games.

Gionee Elife S5.5 To Be Available In India From 27 April

Gionee announced the Elife S5.5 last month at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona and claimed it to be the world’s slimmest phone. Priced at Rs 22, 999, the phone will be available on shelves from April 27. The device was launched in China on March 18 and announced in India on March 31. India is one of the 40 countries where the phone is being launched and it is the second most prioritized country after China, to which the manufacturer belongs. The company president, William Lu, has said India is an important market for them at the time of making the announcement.

Gionee S5.5
Gionee S5.5

Mr. Lu has also said that the company constantly endeavours to bring in new technology always. Arvind Vohra, Gionee India Head has stated that the company has seen an increase in popularity within a year of beginning operation in India. It has experienced unprecedented growth especially with the ELIFE series.

The company started its operations in India in March 2013 and has so far done over Rs 500 crores worth of business. The company has a target turnover of Rs 2500 crore by the end of 2014-15 financial year. So far, the company has launched 14 mobile handsets in the country and 11 of them are smartphones. The number of service centres will also be increased to 750 from 400 by the end of fiscal year 2015. A budget of Rs 150 crore has been set aside for marketing and brand building, as stated by Mr Arvind Vohra.

The company targets states such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab as its market and wants to woo crowds in the metros as well.

Globally, Gionee earned revenues worth $2.5 billion globally by selling 24 million handsets over the world last year. Of the 24 million handsets sold, a million were in India. For this year, the company targets to sell 35 million handsets globally of which 6 million will be in India. Gionee is ranked 10th among the shareholders of smartphones markets and is slated to break into top 5 within the next 5 years. It was the ODM or original device manufacturer for several Indian brands and made a foray directly into the market in the 2013’s first quarter.

The launch event took place in Goa where the firm claimed that the ELIFE S5.5 was the best engineered product. The first impressions of the product are not too bad and they do not spell the final verdict for the phone.

Design, Build and Display

The thick metal chassis feels and looks premium while the display unit has been made with corning gorilla glass. The display unit is Super Amoled and is fully HD. The tactile feedbacks on power and volume rockers are good. Both the buttons have been placed along the left panel. The similar positions of the two buttons are good for single handed operations. The USB charging point and 3.5mm jack have been placed on top.

The back and front glass covering is quite similar to what has been noted on the Nexus 4. However, all this is held in aluminium metal chasses with an ultra slim body of 5.5mm. The phone weighs 130 grams which is a little more than what the iPhone 5S weighs (112g). The right panel of the phone has a SIM card slot close to the top and is covered with rubber. The first look of the design and build is quite impressive.

The display unit is 5 inch long and fully HD. It has a pixel density of 441ppi. The display unit offers good viewing angles and is not very reflective. Texts look sharp and colour reproduction is quite precise. The display unit may turn out to be a strong point for the device.

The device performed well for video playbacks although reproduction of sound was not very good. With sound modulation, the body vibrates a little which can be quite annoying.

An octa core processor that clocks speed of 1.7 GHz is being used in the phone. The battery used in it will be 2,300 mAh although it will be upgraded to 2460 mAh in the next upgrade of the phone. The Elife S5.5 shall also support HSPA+42MBPS in 6 different band sets which would allow it to function in most WCDMA 3G coverage areas.

Camera
Until you hold it in your hands, it would be difficult to believe that the maker managed to squeeze in a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera in the 5.5mm thick aluminium metal body. The LED flash on the back camera however is not blended in completely with the back cover and it protrudes outwards slightly.

The placement of the edges is a little uncomfortable as users may get their fingers in the frame while holding the camera. Even though the camera is yet to be tested at length, the 13MP shooter offers an average performance.

Software Used on the Phone

The ELIFE S5.5 uses Android Jelly Bean or 4.2 as the base and the Amigo UI is the customized skin for it. The feel of the software is similar to that of the Elife E7 although the company claims it is an improvement over the previous model. Further inspection is required to tell the difference between the two softwares. It should be notified beforehand that the ELIFE E7 has its own share of problems to deal with.

During the course of first impressions, there were no problems with the software although the phone heated up a bit. The performance of the software is yet to be tested fully.

The company is taking the Indian market very seriously as it has 2 to 4 percent of its sales being generated here. The company plans to distribute the phones through 25,000 centres. It has no intention of tying up with large online retailers unless the companies decide to sell the phone at MOP. Moreover, it does not intend to drop the prices of phones that Sony and Samsung do quickly after a launch. This will help to build brand value.

Reviewing The Nokia X

Nokia was one of the foremost manufacturers of mobile devices and enjoyed a lot of popularity through the first decade of the millennium. The phones were hardy and user friendly which made them much preferred. However, with the launch of the iPhone and the Android open source mobile software, the popularity of Nokia phones dipped.

The Finnish manufacturer refused to switch over to the new and improved technology that was incorporated into the new phones manufactured by Sony, LG, Samsung and other companies. When it did decide to upgrade its hardware and software, the company chose Windows as its preferred OS. This was another decision that led to a restriction in the sales of Nokia phones. Windows phones lacked the flexibility that was there in Android or iOS which led to slow sales for Nokia. App developers were not much interested in the OS and hence buyers stayed away as they could not download their favourite apps on the phone.
Nokia X

The Windows OS is quite unsuitable for low end phones and to cater to the budget segment, Nokia revamped some of its cell phones with the Symbian software and launched them in the market. Meanwhile, Android became the new buzz word and in the race to the bottom, phones that had Android in them were made available for as low as Rs 5000!

The Nokia X may be touted as an Android device, but it lacks several of Google’s foundation software. For example, Google has a Play Store app, Google Now search bar and Google Maps for navigation. Android licensees need to follow Google’s guidelines and include these apps, which is why Samsung and other phones have these applications.

Since Microsoft has its own range of similar applications, the Android ones have not been installed on them. Instead, Office, Bing Search and Nokia Here maps have been installed on the phone and there are no Google trademark apps anywhere.

The company claims that 75 percent of Android apps will work on the phone. However, the effectiveness of working is doubtful. Applications that use in-app payments, Google push notification and API maps may not work well. Moreover, the Android system used is 4.1.2 which is quite outdated.

The company intends to launch three devices on the Nokia X platform. However, after the take over from Microsoft, it is to be seen whether the company continues with these devices or promoted Windows phones instead.

Hardware of the Phone

The appearance of the device is similar to the Asha 5xx series and is roughly the size of iPhone 4. The sides are completely flat while the back bulges slightly. The phone is available in green, red, yellow, white, and blue and black.

The coloured case fits around the sides and back of the phone and forms a cover around the bezel and black screen. Putting on and taking off the case can be a bit difficult as it fits too snugly.

A single capacitive button has been placed for the home and back button. The screen size is 4 inches. A thin 1500 mAh battery has been placed under the back cover along with a microSD card slot and 2 micro SIM slots. The phone is made of sturdy materials and feels quite expensive.

Specs of the Phone

The Nokia X is not a credible threat to the Lumia 525 in terms of features. The processor used is 1GHz Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon with a A5 Cortex based MSM8225, which was not much high end even two years ago.

The GPU is the Adreno 203 while only 512MB RAM has been fitted in the phone. The phone’s prime objective is price and hence it does not look to uphold multimedia or gaming aspirations.

Built in storage space is only 4GB which can be expanded to 32 GB, using a microSD card. The screen resolution is only 800X480 resolutions. The phone supports 3G data and Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n for wireless connectivity.

FM Radio and GPS have been included too. No secondary camera has been included in the phone that could be used to click selfies or video chat. The primary camera is 3MP which is the lowest specification that a smartphone offers these days.

User Interface of the Phone

The software has been optimized to suit the hardware of the phone. Simple swipes can be used for navigation and animations have been kept simple. A cluster of big icons without spacing shall greet users on the Home screen, which is similar to what is there in Windows 8 phones.

The groups can be tapped for rearranging the icons and each of the icons can be enlarged. The home screen appears as a long list of icons and widgets instead of pages that can be scrolled.

Basic applications have been included in the phones such as alarm clock, calendar, email client, calculator etc. They are quite handy, but not very user friendly. Bing is the default search engine used in the phone although it can be easily changed to Google using a tap on an icon. The email icon supports many accounts and can be set up for popular email services through one step.

Performance of the Phone

The phone is quite slow and several apps do not work accurately. For example, Zomato could not detect the location of the phone based on the GPS signal although it showed restaurants near the location defined.

The phone cannot multitask and hence it could take even days to download and install apps on it.

Basic games perform well on the mobile. However, the browser is quite slow and hence opening 3-4 tabs at a time is inadvisable. The phone can play back videos with resolution up to 720p. However, for H.264 videos, the playback becomes unwatchable as frames are dropped to a good extent.

Despite the camera being only 3MP, the resolution is quite good and photographs are mostly noise free and compression controlled. Focusing of the phone is quite good although its white balance and exposure need to be worked on. Photographs were well detailed in low light shots too.

Videos are recorded at an extremely low resolution of 352X288 and hence the feature should be used in dire emergencies only.

Call quality is quite good and the battery back-up is average. It lasted only 6 hours in a video loop test.

Conclusion

The phone is quite good for its price band of Rs 8,499. However, whether the line would be continued or improved upon is doubtful, especially after Microsoft takes over operations.

The Nokia X series has been launched to tempt users to upgrade to a Windows phone. However, that could act as a double edged sword with users migrating towards Android devices instead of a Windows one.

Micromax Makes The A177 Juice Available To Indian Customers At A Great Price!

Micromax Canvas Juice A177
Micromax Canvas Juice A177

There is no denying the sustainability and impact of local smartphone brands in the Indian market. The Indian market was earlier dominated by the likes of HTC, Nokia and Black Berry among others. However, the tide has turned in recent times and this is mainly due to the proliferation of local competitors like Micromax, Karbonn, Lava, Xolo and many others. Why have these local smartphone companies done well? Before delving deep into the dynamics behind the success of these phone companies in India, let us have a look at the present market position and market share held by major smartphone companies. As per latest estimates, Samsung is still the market leader in India with a market share exceeding 40%.

HTC and Nokia earlier held respectable shares of the Indian market but their market shares have now slid down to dangerous territory. Surprisingly, Micromax is now in second position going by market share. The company holds close to 25% in India and is followed closely by Karbonn in third place. This is of course, according to estimates but it does give one an idea of the dominance exerted by these phone brands in the Indian market. Coming back to our earlier question, these smartphone brands have done well in India owing to a combination of factors.

Some of these factors include the low prices of these smartphones as compared to global biggies. Samsung, HTC and other smartphone companies are tagged at extremely high prices which may otherwise be unaffordable for a large section of customers. This is one of the biggest reasons for the popularity and success of these smartphones in the Indian market. Alongside, these smartphones provide unmatched value to the Indian customer. They provide a decent mix of features, customer benefits and other advantages at extremely reasonable and affordable prices which has caught on with Indian customers. More and more Indian customers are now sacrificing brand value for reasonable styling, features and of course, fabulous pricing.

As a result, Micromax has emerged as the market leader after Samsung in India. It has also signed up leading Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador which is a huge step for any smartphone company doing business in India. This has set it apart from the competition and has given a huge fillip to its overall ambitions and also widened its customer base in India with elan. The company is now going in for a desperate branding makeover in order to shed their China-made cheap smartphone tag. It is now looking at consolidating the company’s position in India as a mainstream, feature packed manufacturer.

However, there are some products which still keep Micromax’s low cost provider status intact and make it one of the largest selling phone manufacturers in India. One of these cutting edge products is the A177 Micromax Canvas Juice which possesses a 3000 mAh battery. This smartphone is now available for purchase at a very reasonable price of only INR 8490 which is immensely affordable to say the least!

Micromax has put up the Canvas A177 Juice up for sale on its official website without much details of prices or other availability aspects. However, the Canvas A177 Juice has been showcased on a popular e-commerce website at a price of INR 8490 as mentioned above. The new smartphone is likely a new variant of the previous Canvas Juice A77 which was announced by the company in the month of November in 2013.

The main difference between these two smartphone models pertains to the tech specs. The new A177 Juice from the Canvas range includes cutting edge features and specifications such as the all new 6572 MediaTek MTK dual core 1.2 GHz processor to replace the earlier 1.3 GHz MTK MediaTek 6572 processor present in the Canvas. The new A177 Canvas Juice also possesses RAM of 1 GB which should be decent enough for Indian customers. The A177 Canvas Juice also contains a 3000 mAh battery which should provide huge battery life of a maximum of 10 hours as far as talk time is concerned. Alongside, standby time stands at around 282 hours which is also good enough in the Indian market.

This smartphone works on the 4.2 Jelly Bean version of Android in out of the box mode which is quite similar to the Canvas A77 Juice. The new A177 Canvas Juice is a phablet with dual SIM capabilities and supports GSM SIM’s. Dual standby features are also present on this smartphone. The display of 5 inches is a FWVGA unit with resolution of 480 by 854 pixels. The Micromax Canvas A177 Juice also contains a primary camera of 5 megapixels with auto focusing features. Other features include a front VGA camera and an LED flash. Alongside, in built storage stands at 4 GB and users can only make use of about 672 MB. This can however be scaled up to a powerful 32 GB through microSD capabilities.

The Micromax Canvas A177 Juice has features for connectivity such as GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Bluetooth. Alongside, there are many applications that are pre-installed on this smartphone like Spuul, Dancing Bubbles, Game Hub, Bubble X Slice, Hike and Kingsoft Office. Opera Mini is also preloaded on this top notch smartphone. Alongside, the smartphone has been listed on the popular e-commerce portal eBay India. However, it remains to be seen whether the smartphone will still be launched at the official price announced by the company.

Alongside, Micromax is betting big on this budget smartphone to win the affections of customers and also launched its high powered Knight smartphone at a price of INR 19, 999 recently in tandem with the A177. The Micromax A177 Canvas Juice should be a winning bet in the Indian market and should win the affections of customers looking for a solid budget smartphone with decent features and specifications. The Canvas Juice A177 should be a shot in the arm for Micromax in India.

The Ravishing New Nokia Lumia 1320

Nokia has been a late starter in the big touch screen smartphone market category in recent times. Alongside, Nokia steadily lost out on its market share owing to its failure to capture customer attention and compete with other rivals like Samsung, HTC and Sony. Alongside, the Windows platform used by Nokia was never really capable of supporting similar devices in the recent past. This was another reason for a market hiatus in the big screen phone segment. Alongside, Nokia may have been unaware of the growing demand for such specific smartphones. However, the company is now looking at targeting luxury and premium segment buyers without compromising on the value for money tag.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 which had a High Definition screen and a twenty megapixel PureView camera, will now be complemented by the Lumia 1320 which will be an attractive proposition for many customers who desire big Android devices that have recently been flying off market shelves. The Nokia Lumia 1320 is really for customers who desire a large and handy smartphone in comparison to people who simply wish to own a powerful device with high resolution. However, this smartphone should fare well in comparison to the Micromax Canvas Turbo or the Xolo Q300. If we take the specifications into consideration, the Lumia 1320 is almost similar to the Samsung Galaxy Grand
2.

Nokia Lumia 1320
Nokia Lumia 1320

Feel, Handling, Appearance

The 1320 has just the right dose of curves which makes it more comfortable to use and hold, a little extra weight notwithstanding. Alongside, the absence of an extra bump for housing the camera is a big plus point. The 1320 will look and feel substantially bigger and bulkier than almost every other phone in the market including its 1520 sibling. Fitting this phone into trouser pockets is not at all a comfortable affair. This phone cannot be used with single hand movements either. You need both hands to firmly get a grip as well. The company has opted for a matte finish to the device and the covers are to be peeled off which is a bit cumbersome. There is no removable battery and the battery is not really visible; once you remove the shell, all you get to see are the microSD and Micro-SIM slots.

There are buttons pertaining to power standby, camera shortcut and volume rocker only which are all grouped on the right and are incorporated into the phone shell. The power button lies bang in the middle which might well be a little low for your forefinger or thumb’s jurisdiction. The headset jack and Micro-USB slot are present on top and bottom of this device. The camera lens, speaker cutout and flash are arranged quite compactly on the back of the smartphone. There are three basic navigation capacitive buttons below the screen and a front camera as well.

Nokia Lumia 1320 Primary Features

The Nokia Lumia 1320 does not really aspire to be a premium, high end smartphone. The features and specs on this device are okay to say the least. The device works with a mid range dual core Snapdragon 400 Qualcomm processor at 1.7 GHz. Adreno 305 works well as GPU and is coupled with 1 GB of RAM.

Nokia also uses the Clear Black IPS LCD on this device with a view towards enhancing levels of contrast. With 1280 by 720 resolution, the display does not impress as much as it should. The Windows Phone 8 interface also feels a little jaded owing to thin typography usage. This is not a real issue but the phone might get a thumbs down from customers who are hooked on to full high definition smartphone panels which are available in huge numbers these days. In-built storage space of 8 GB is provided, which can be scaled all the way up to about 64 GB with microSD cards. Alongside, Bluetooth LE 4.0 and Wi-Fi b/g/n are also supported by this smartphone. This phone also has support for 3G bands and GSM however LTE cannot be used in India owing to a standards related conflict.

In spite of all its shortcomings, this phone is actually a competent and high powered device with decent features. The phone makes for a good buy at an affordable price point that is offered by the company. The primary camera comes in 5 megapixels with 1080p of video recording guaranteed along with a few camera modes taken from the PureView mode found in the 1520. The VGA front camera of 480 by 640 pixels is not all that effective when it comes to video calling or other functions. Nokia provides a powerful 3400 mAh battery which ensures at least ten hours of peak time battery life and even more owing to the lower power consumption of this device and the mid range processor.

Software Help for Users

The Nokia Lumia 1320 comes with ample software for users and customers. Nokia includes its legendary Here Drive and Here Maps applications on its home screen. There are other handy apps like Evernote, Nokia Beamer, Flipkart Ebooks, Microsoft Office, Adidas Micoach and Xbox Games. However, the advanced camera application is absent but can be downloaded from the Store. The Nokia Creative Studio app is another big draw on this device. Apps like the vanilla camera app help users edit, manipulate and view photographs and use color filters, effects and other features. Alongside, a separate Camera 360 app specializes solely in camera effects and editing features. The Windows Phone Store option is provided along with the Moli Player which plays back a wide variety of formats in both audio and video.

The Final Conclusion

Be Ready For The Moto X Revolution Sweeping India Soon!

Motorola, one of the world’s top known and most acclaimed mobile phone manufacturers, seems to be quite restless with regard to regaining market share in India. The company products once sold like hot cakes in Indian markets with popular models like the MotoRazr and others. However, there has been a steady decline in markets and customer demand for Motorola’s products both in India and Asia at large. This is mainly because of the company’s failure to keep up with the present market trends and put a finger on the pulse of modern customers. Somehow, other mobile phone biggies like Samsung, HTC, Blackberry and Nokia carved their distinct identity in the market along with other low cost local smartphone makers like Karbonn and Micromax. These are the market leaders for the past couple of years.

However, Motorola could never really get into mainstream Indian markets and win the hearts of customers. However, in some latest news that could pleasantly surprise tech enthusiasts and other experts, Motorola is in a tearing hurry to launch the MotoX, its flagship global product in India pretty soon! The news of the impending launch was made official on the Twitter handle of the company, where a question relating to the Asia based release of the product was answered with a definitive plan for a commercial launch within the next few weeks. The MotoX will be simultaneously launched formally in both Australia and India as well.

Motorola has recently earned loads of acclaim in the Indian market which points to a revival of sorts with its budget phone, the MotoG smartphone which has done surprisingly well in the market and earned substantial customer goodwill. The company is not resting on its laurels however as it will jump into launching the MotoX pretty soon. There has been no official announcement regarding the exact date of the launch of the MotoX though along with no official information on the exact prices of this flagship model for Indian customers. Alongside, Motorola officially proclaimed that the MotoG model had surpassed all previous models towards becoming its supremely successful phone model of all time. This was also confirmed via tweet from the company’s official handle.

The MotoX was commercially launched by the company in August 2013 and was made available only for US customers only. Alongside, the smartphone operated on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 and got an update via the 4.4.2 Kit Kat OS that Motorola incorporated in November 2013. This smartphone possesses a quality display of 4.7 inches with pixel resolution standing at 1280 by 720. Alongside, the smartphone runs via a dual core 1.7 GHz MSM8960Pro Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in addition to having 2 GB of RAM. Internal storage stands at 16 GB which is handy enough, considering the fact that it cannot be expanded any further. There is also a primary camera of 10 megapixels placed at the rear which comes with a special LED flash. There is also a front camera of 2 megapixels which is handy for video calling and other related activities.

The MotoG was unveiled in India earlier in February by the company and the 16 GB and 8 GB variants are priced quite competitively at INR 13, 999 and INR 12, 499 respectively. The MotoG can only be purchased via the popular online store, Flipkart. This has got tech experts thinking as to the nature of Motorola’s retailing strategy for the flagship MotoX and the expected prices. The latter aspect is expected to be quite competitive going by the effective pricing rates for the MotoG. It will be interesting to see whether the company sells the MotoX exclusively on Flipkart this time round or branches out into more conventional retailing methods.

More about the MotoX

The MotoX smartphone was the result of a productive collaboration between Google and Motorola and the first phone to be created as a result of the same. The US and UK were the first regions to get the MotoX officially last year. Google had taken over Motorola quite some time back and this had got many experts speculating over the launch of a mint fresh Google Nexus phone using Motorola’s cutting edge technology. However, this was not to be and the MotoX emerged as the new flagship from Google’s stables. The company is focusing on some prominent USP’s with this flagship phone model, namely greater battery life, easy functionality and one handed usage and top notch phone services that are both relevant and contextual in the present scenario.

In a way, Motorola’s new launch will be competing with the likes of the iPhone 5C and other related models. It will not be a direct competitor to top of the line smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the recently unveiled S5 or even the HTC Desire or One range. It will instead be competing with the mini version of the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S4. Some of the winning features on the MotoX include voice command features via Google Now, one touch camera access and a handy system for notifications. Pioneering battery life of 24 hours is also being claimed by the company which can be a huge winner in the Indian market. The 2200 mAh battery and carefully crafted internal components are being touted as a unique combination with regard to lower power consumption and better output.

Will the MotoX stand out in a market dominated by the likes of Samsung, Apple and even low cost premium service providers like Micromax and Karbonn? This can only be ascertained with the passage of time. However, the MotoX does have quite a lot of things going for it including the somewhat unique look and feel in terms of design and build quality. This is one solid phone with solid battery life, premium features and much improved usability and functionality. All of these are factors which augur well for the MotoX in terms of winning the hearts of Indian customers.

Buy Your Blackberry At Only INR 17, 990 For A Limited Period Offer In India!

In one of the most exciting and surprising developments in recent times, the premium Blackberry Z10 smartphone can now be bought at only INR 17, 990 in India. This is a limited period offer and has already got potential customers and mobile phone enthusiasts coming out in droves to snap up this premium end smartphone at a substantially lower price!

Blackberry Z10
Blackberry Z10

Blackberry is commemorating its 10th anniversary with regard to venturing into the Indian mobile phone market and the price reduction is the direct effect of the same. According to the Canadian mobile phone giant, the Blackberry Z10 will be available at this reduced price for a period of only 60 days which should be enough for all Blackberry fans to take advantage of this mind boggling offer! The new price point makes the Z10 a very attractive and popular option in the Indian smartphone market. This means that customers can now snap up a premium device with optimum performance levels and brand value, at below INR 20, 000. This is a startling development in the Indian mobile phone market, as far as Blackberry’s rivals are concerned.

The Blackberry Z10, the first ever BB10 smartphone from the mobile phone manufacturer, was formally launched in February 2013 in Indian mobile phone markets. The starting price was a steep INR 43, 490, which was deemed ultra-expensive and unaffordable by a large section of prospective buyers. However, prices were brought down hugely and stood at INR 29, 990 under a special offer for the festive season. In another similar development, Blackberry had also reduced prices of its pioneering Q5 smartphone by a whopping 20 percent in another offer which was also valid for a limited period. The Q5 price was scaled down to an astonishingly low INR 19, 990 under this scheme. Alongside, the affordable version of the BB10 phone was priced somewhat competitively at INR 24, 990, considering the top performance and QWERTY keypad on offer.

The smartphone maker seems to have been on a gifting spree for its customers as it also reduced prices of the Q10 handset by more than 13 percent, pricing this high end smartphone at just INR 38, 990 with a December special scheme for Indian customers. Blackberry had earlier taken loads of flak for the high prices of the Z10 in India after its February launch. However, the company has taken pains to sweeten the overall package for customers with one of the biggest price cuts ever witnessed in the Indian mobile phone market. This new initiative from Blackberry should see sales double or even triple in the next two months before the offer ends and will earn the company a lot of goodwill in the Indian market, something that works favorably with regard to consolidating market position.

More about the Blackberry Z10

For INR 17, 000 only, customers will now get a top end smartphone with the best possible features and advantages. Not only is the Z10 the first Blackberry device to use BB10, it also has a dual core 1.5 GHz processor along with internal storage of a whopping 16 GB. 2 GB of RAM is complemented by a powerful 1850 mAh phone battery that provides a staggering 312 hours in standby mode and ten hours of talk time which is pretty decent too. Alongside, there is an 8 megapixel primary camera at the rear of this device which can capture 1080p quality videos along with a secondary front camera of 2 megapixels which comes in handy for video calling and other activities. This smartphone provides a full touch based experience for users instead of the usual keypad attached to Blackberry smartphones. Does this phone have the potential to be a winner in the Indian market? Read on for some insights on the actual feel, appearance, functionality and performance of the Blackberry Z10.

The phone does not look flashy at all; rather, it can be called quite understated with regard to appearance and the first look. There are corners that are curved along with an overall rectangle like design which should work perfectly okay for fastidious phone freaks. The design aspect is neither ground breaking nor disappointing. However, the phone looks and feels up market and premium build quality is the USP behind the same. The rear end of the Z10 has excellent gripping possibilities for users with an impressive logo in the middle along with a top left flash and camera lens. There is a slit right at the bottom which hides the microSD, battery and microSIM slots from public view. Right at the front, the display of 4.2 inches is a marvel to behold for Indian customers. The buttons are all compact and there is no sense of stagnation with regard to the overall appearance of this smartphone.

The 1280 by 768 pixel display is very competent with superior angles for viewing and fabulous reproduction of colors. Visibility under direct sunlight is quite good with no issues related to reflectivity. There are arrays of touch based gestures that can be employed with prompt responses from the touch screen which is another plus point. The 8 megapixel camera will be loved by shutterbugs and can capture videos in full high definition mode. Alongside, the quality of images is decent overall and daylight and low light images look good with just a little noise penetrating the same. Other camera features include the Time Shift mode which is fun to use but there is no Panorama feature like other top end smartphones.

The operating system is powerful enough but does not match up to iOS and even Android both in terms of flexibility and power. However, it is decent enough for business conversations, gaming, emailing, social networking and internet usage which are just about what the average user would want. The battery should run without charge for at least a day and this is good enough for heavy smartphone users as well.

All in all, this is one smartphone that should be snapped up without hesitation at the immensely low prices offered by Blackberry. Take advantage of the offer now!

Samsung vs Micromax

Two of the leading global competitors are now ruling the roost in the Indian mobile phone market. These are none other but Samsung and Micromax. The competition is trounced with these two brands directly competing with each other. According to recent research and market reports, Samsung still holds in excess of forty percent of the Indian smart phone and mobile phone market. However, Micromax comes in second place which is quite astonishing as it is still a young brand. It is steadily closing in on twenty five percent of the Indian mobile phone market. Experts see the Micromax brand steadily surpassing Samsung in the next four to five years. It is a stiff battle out there, one that has seen the dethroning of global counterparts like HTC, Blackberry, Nokia and LG.

This is another fall-out of this battle. Blackberry has been unable to innovate and the decreasing popularity of BBM or Blackberry Messenger has hastened its own doom in record time. Alongside, Blackberry could never provide smartphones at affordable prices and have thus remained niche boutique products for a restricted section of the market. Nokia sales have been slipping up for quite a while. It has recently been bought out by Microsoft and this may still have an impact in reviving the brand in times to come. In recent times, the Nokia Lumia series has still not raked in the desired sales figures in spite of a strong start.

This is where Micromax has steadily carved its own niche in the market along with other home grown companies like Lava, Karbonn and Spice to name a few. Micromax has actually triggered a price war in the segment with its affordable range of smartphones including the Canvas series. Micromax has always provided smartphones with premium quality smartphones at a third of the price one would normally pay for a smartphone from a premium global brand.

This is something that is eating into Samsung’s profit range. However, Samsung is still on top due to its innovative range of feature phones and its high quality smartphones. People are still going for Samsung smartphones in spite of high prices. This is because of the premium security, reliability and quality that the brand represents. Micromax is closing the gap steadily and is already wooing customers the world over with its line of new innovations and brand promotional activities. Who will win this battle for monopoly in the Indian market? Only time will tell as far as overall results are concerned.

Do you want to buy top of the line phones from Samsung or Micromax? You should visit online classifieds portals for a glimpse of the same. These portals will give you loads of options for purchasing used cell phones in Delhi or any other Indian city. You will find advertisements for selling premium smart phones and feature phones at unbeatable prices.

All you need to do is visit online mobile phone classifieds to contact sellers directly and purchase your dream smartphone without any hassles or troubles involved.

You could also maintain two different numbers categorising your contacts and who you give out your number to, separating your official calls from your private calls. You could also manage any connectivity issues by switching your network provider based on the availability of network wherever you may be travelling. While there are many such advantages of maintaining a dual SIM phone, there are a few downsides as well. There are various service providers out there in the competitive market and having too many SIM cards would require you to keep a tab of your accounts, balance issues, tariff vouchers, validity etc. which can be an added hassle.
